The ‘A’ team of Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) beat Unit-6 High School 1-0 in the final to win the Bhubaneswar Inter-School Football Tournament for Mir Iqbal Trophy at Unit-1 Government High School ground in Bhubaneswar today. Faturananda Marandi scored the all-important goal in the second half.
Earlier in the semifinals, KISS ‘A’ edged out Unit-9 High School 1-0, while Unit-6 prevailed over Tapoban High School by identical margin. Coca Cola executives Badri Narayan Srinivasan and Sandeep Bose handed over the trophy at the closing function. Twenty-five probables were selected from the four-day tournament to represent the city in the state selection trial to be held at Cuttack from November 4.
